All of the children enjoy daily access to our own all-weather outside play space to the rear of the setting and we encourage outdoor play as often as is practicable. This includes wet weather play where the children can explore and play in our mud kitchen or play games on the all-weather grass surface. We observe and follow the national guidelines relating to appropriate times for children to be outside during hot weather spells.
All-Weather outdoor space
In this space, the children have access to a wide range of resources and equipment to suit all ages and abilities. The children can role-play in mud kitchen with pots and pans, discover minibeasts in our bug hotel, play with small resources in the fairy garden, or enjoy the feeling of sand between their toes in our sandpit.
Physical skills are supported and strengthened through a variety of activities from ball games to obstacle courses and children are encouraged to seek challenge and manage risks under the consistent supervision of dedicated staff. We offer construction resources and other building materials which open up yet more opportunities for discovery and creativity.
In the warmer weather, we are able to use the outdoor space for creative activities and learning about nature and the change of the seasons.
